Room 8’s Walk from Te Rewarewa Bridge to the Aquatic Centre

Room 8's enthusiastic and noisy children enjoy the bus ride to the Te Rewarewa Bridge, looking forward to a great day.

Before we started walking the teachers were telling us about the history of the Te Rewarewa Bridge and the New Plymouth Coastal walkway.

Look at the happy and excited children of Room 8 on the world famous wave shaped bridge.

Finally we set off for an adventure by the Waiwakaiho River.

A rare Spoonbill was resting by the shag.

There were 180 of us spread like Ants along the trail.

One of the boys had a sore knee so he got a little help from his mates.

Around the corner to Fitzroy beach and we got our first view of the port and the Sugar Loaf islands in the distance

On the horizon are Saddle Back and Mikotahi islands, and in the foreground hundreds of seagulls rest on the low tide rocks.
